Nasarawa State: COAS Asks Troops to Discharge Duties with Renewed Vigour

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Toareed Lagbaja, has charged troops of the 4 Special Forces Command Headquarters of the Nigerian Army in Doma, Nasarawa State, to perform their duties with renewed vigour.
Lieutenant General Toareed Lagbaja gave the charge during a visit, using the occasion to interface with the troops as part of steps to enhance their operational activities.

He urged them to continue to adopt strategic innovations in combating the spate of insurgency and criminality in all parts of the country.
Lieutenant General Lagbaja further stated that in the last few months, the federal government had remained consistent in deploying resources to the Nigerian Army to enable troops perform their duties with renewed vigour.
The Chief of Army Staff called on the troops to continue to put the unity and security of the country above every other consideration and ensure that there is no hiding place for criminal elements.
He, however, charged the troops to see the significant successes so far  recorded in tackling insecurity in most parts of the north central geopolitical zone.

 

Backlog of Arrears  

Lieutenant General Lagbaja further disclosed that the federal government had approved the lump sum of eighteen point four billion naira (N18.4bn) to clear the backlog of arrears of Life Assurance Allowance for troops since 2011.
“The money is for the families of officers , who died in the course of their duty.
The backlog is since 2011. The family of our fallen heroes can receive what is due to them so that they can engage in meaningful economic activities out there,” he noted.

 Highpoint of the visit of the Chief of Army Staff to the Four Special Forces, Command Headquarters in Doma, Nasarawa State, were inspection of quarter guard, a tour of  facilities and units of the command as well as an interactive session with the troops.
