The Senior Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Job creation, Mr Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, says President Bola Tinubu wants small businesses in Nigeria to flourish no matter the circumstances.
He made the declaration in Abuja while speaking to State House Correspondents, shortly after the Vice President inaugurated the headquarters complex of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been very supportive of the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) space. Everywhere he travels to or every time he comes up to make any remark, he lets everyone know that he wants the lives of small businesses to be seamless.
“He wants such businesses to be able to run their businesses with the support of the government and go about their businesses without any headache. Whatever their bottlenecks, he wants to help them un-bottle such. Therefore, it is not a surprise that we are here today commissioning this lovely edifice by SMEDAN.”
He commended the Director General of SMEDAN and his team for working so hard to complete the building as well as giving SMEDAN a new phase of achievements.
Also speaking, the Director General of SMEDAN, Charles Odii, disclosed that the new office complex also comprises training facilities that will help boost the capacity of entrepreneurs in the country.
“Today we are unveiling this complex that has got our common facilities and we are also flagging off our conditional grant scheme as announced earlier in the year by the President of the Federal republic of Nigeria.
“More importantly we are also unveiling different schemes that small businesses can take advantage of. We are taking away the burden of buying and operating equipment and that of moving finished goods from here to anywhere the small businesses want,” he added.
He thanked the office of the Vice President for always supporting SMEDAN as well as small businesses in the country.
