The National Chairman of the Allied People’s Movement, APM, in Nigeria, Mr. Yusuf Dantalle has emerges the National Chairman of Nigeria’s Inter-Party Advisory Council , IPAC, in a contest against the National Chairman of Action Democratic Party, ADP.
Mr. Dantalle polled a total of ten votes to defeat the incumbent IPAC Chairman Mr. Yusuf Yabagi of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, who scored eight votes is to run the affairs of IPAC for two years.
The Chairman of the IPAC Election Committee, Mr. Dan Nwayanwu of Zenith Labour Party who announced the result of the election held at the National Secretariat of Zenith Labour Party in Abuja, Nigeria’s Capital said that one out of the 19 accredited voters was voided, as the voter did not vote for any of the candidates.
Mr. Nwayanwu who declared Mr. Yusuf Dantalle of Allied People’s Movement, APM, as winner of the IPAC election said that the date of swearing-in would be announced in latter day.
The the newly elected National Chairman of IPAC Mr. Yusuf Dantalle commended members of IPAC for trusting him to lead the council.
Mr. Dantalle who pleaged to discharge his responsibility inaccordance with the law guiding the council while working with all party leaders.
He also sought the collaboration of all polity leaders, ensure women inclusiveness and registered the political body with Cooperate Affairs Commission, CAC.
“I want to assure women that IPAC u der my leadership will have something greater and better,” he said.
“If I have the mandate of the assembly I will seek to establish the directorate of women affairs to ensure women inclusivity is taking to a greater level under my leadership.
“Secondly, I want to try as such as possible within the next three months of our administration to ensure that IPAC is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC,” he stated.
On his part, Mr. Sani Yabagi congratulated Mr. Yusuf Dantalle for emerging winner of the IPAC National Chairmanship Election, saying that “democracy has come to play”.
He noted that transition through election “is one of the things that defines democracy from any other form of government, which is having elections.
“Results have shown that Dantalle eventually won the election I have congratulated him already. I wish that in the years to come I will have reasons to be proud of whatever he does to take IPAC to the higher level than we met it,” he said.
Others elected officials of the IPAC National leadership were Mr. Dipo Olayoku as Deputy National Chairman ( who was unopposed); Mr. Martins Egbeola as National Organizing Secretary; Maxwell Magbuden as National Secretary, Obed Agu as National legal Adviser, Mariam Babel as National Treasurer, and Ibrahim Suleiman as National Financial Secretary.
