Housing Minister Celebrates Medals Haul Of Sports Team

Nigeria’s Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has hailed the Ministry’s Sports Team ‘Mighty Works and Housing Sports Club‘ for the medals accumulated at various Sports competitions they have participated.

The minister, who described the achievements as outstanding and remarkable performances by the Sports Club, was visibly excited to receive the medals in his office amid all the sporting members

“It’s a heartwarming delight for me to receive the variety of cups won for the Ministry,” Minister Dangiwa said.

“I congratulate you for the efforts you have made in making the ministry top among its peers. This is a commendable feat and a wonderful performance,” he added.

The minister lauded the team’s ability to carry out its responsibilities in their various departments in the Ministry, while also taking an interest in sports for their physical and mental health development. He assured the team of the Ministry’s readiness to support the sporting activities in the ministry.

While Speaking, the Team Manager of the Mighty Works and Housing Sports Club, Fakande Ayorinde, appreciated the Minister for his achievements so far since his appointment as the Housing Minister and also expressed confidence in his ability to perform more given his antecedents.

He stated that they came to present the medals to the Minister as a tradition and a mark of respect being the number one fan and supporter of the club.

The various medals presented to the Minister in different categories were; a silver medal in football competition; a gold medal in tug of war; and a trophy, at the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) Customer Service Week.

Others were the overall best MDA in the Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA), held in Jos 2022 and a gold medal in March past, Kwara 2021.

Trophies won from the 2023 FEPSGA held in Minna Niger State, in the categories of Best MDA in Opening Ceremony, a trophy in female handball, and a bronze medal in the male handball for the Ministerial Competition, were also presented to the Minister.

Ayorinde further informed the Minister of their 2nd place finish on the medals table at the 2023 FEPSGA with a total of 14 Gold, 8 Silver, and 18 Bronze medals

“We appealed to the Minister to consider working out a games village where the team members can own homes and also carry out sporting activities,” Ayorinde concluded.
