President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Christians as they celebrate Christmas saying his administration will continually implement palliative measures to ease the burden of the most vulnerable, address current hardships and alleviate the suffering of Nigerians

Felicitating Christians on Christmas, the President observed that Christmas is a special time of the year for all especially for Christians to celebrate the hope and redemption that are the hallmarks of the life of Jesus Christ.

President Tinubu also said that for people of all faiths, the Christmas season gives the opportunity to enjoy the company of family, celebrate life, and delight in the gifts of love and friendship that make life worthwhile.

“As you celebrate this season, please spare a moment of remembrance and prayer for the men and women of our nation’s armed forces, bearing arms in our names and ensuring our safety. My God protect them and bring them back to their families.”

He therefore called on Christians to reflect on the best of Christ and endeavour to extend the kindness that the life of Christ preaches to those around them, by sharing with the less privileged.

“This is also a time to look out for each other because, amidst the festivities, this time of year for many will be tinged with sadness: some mourning the loss of loved ones and others grieving the hopes that failed to materialise and the dreams that fell short.”

He assured Nigerians of his commitment to govern with vision and dedication.

The Nigerian Leader called on citizens to be more confident in the coming year saying that by collective strength, the country will emerge into a new dawn of prosperity, peace and irreversible progress.

“This year has been a time of transformation and relentless change in our country. And I am aware that the reforms we are implementing to achieve a more prosperous, peaceful nation for all have imposed unique sacrifices. “

The President further called on Nigerians to jointly support the government in commemorating the memory of those who, in their service, have paid the highest price for Nigeria.

“Let the light of Christmas guide our paths as we bring this year to a close and usher in the new year.”
