The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has signed the 2024 budget into Law.
The budget, which is 57.8% higher than the 2023 budget, is focused on infrastructure development, education, and healthcare.
Performing the function, Governor Soludo thanked all stakeholders who have been involved in the process, pointing out that Anambra State House of Assembly worked very hard to see that the Law meets the needs and aspirations of the Anambra people.
The Governor revealed that with the budget in hand, the real transformation of the state using the five pillars of his administration will now begin.
He noted that infrastructure and human capital are among the front burners of the budget plan.
Also, the Governor signed into Law the bill that repealed the Anambra State Publishing and Newspaper Printing Corporation.
Governor Soludo had on November 21, 2023, presented a budget proposal of N410, 132, 225, 272 for the 2024 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly.
Present at the signing were the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, House Committee Chairman on Finance and Appropriation, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu, among others.
