The initiative is being led by the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, and aims to promote digital innovation and entrepreneurship in Nigeria.

Prospective teachers are expected to be stationed in the capital cities of three strategically chosen states, spanning the North, East, and West regions of the country. Specifically, these locations comprise Maiduguri in the North, Owerri in the East, and Abeokuta in the West.

In its official announcement regarding the applications, the Ministry emphasized the importance of seeking visionary educators, experienced teachers, and passionate individuals capable of mentoring the upcoming generation of tech innovators within secondary schools.

The Ministry encourages interested and qualified candidates to submit their applications through the designated website for the program.

The Build-A-Thon is a collaborative platform between the Ministry and Raspberry Pi Foundation, a UK-based NGO with a focus on computing and digital technologies.

It brings together tech enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and innovators to introduce senior secondary school students to the maker culture.
