Yuletide: Ebonyi Lawmaker Distributes Items, Cash To Constituency

The Lawmaker representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal constituency of Ebonyi State Comrade Chinedu Ogah, has demonstrated his commitment to community welfare by distributing relief items and cash amounting to millions of naira during his annual outreach event for the needy and his constituents.

Comrade Ogah who also doubles as the Chairman House Committee on Reformatory Institutions at the House of Representatives distributed the gift items to his constituents in his hometown at Item Amagu in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria.

According to the Lawmaker, the annual event is orchestrated towards empowering his constituents and ensuring that they are given a sense of belonging as citizens of the State.

It is the vote of the masses that I represent, if not for their combined efforts, I wouldn’t have been at the National Assembly today” said Ogah.

“I am only a privileged person before the masses I represent because all of us are equal and qualified to be at the National Assembly.

“For the fact that I represent them, it is my duty to be accountable to them, it is my duty to serve them, it is my duty to feed them, it is my duty to take their calls,” Ogah stated.

He however, lauded the leadership style of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, stressing on the ‘Renewed Hope’ and the ‘People’s Chatter of Needs’ agendas respectively. He urged all citizens to contribute to the country’s development and endorsed supporting the administrations at both federal and state levels.

The event attracted dignitaries and relevant stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, both in Ebonyi State and beyond, members of other political parties, members of the State Executive Council, different support groups, Captains of Industries, Village heads, traditional rulers, the Hausa community and a host of other dignitaries.

Items distributed to the people ranged from Motorcycles, wrappers, bags of rice, bags of beans, clothes, blankets, money among others.
