NHA Refutes Claims of Referring Actor Zack Orji to Private Facility

The National Hospital Abuja is dispelling recent rumors suggesting that the renowned Nigerian actor, Zack Orji, was referred to a private medical facility by the hospital.

The clarification comes in response to a publication that implied a transfer of the actor to an alternate healthcare institution.

In a statement Signed by the spokesperson for the National Hospital Abuja, (NHA) Dr. Tayo Haastrup said contrary to the insinuations, the National Hospital Abuja states that Zack Orji was admitted on New Year’s Eve and initially stabilized in the intensive care unit.

“Subsequently, he was moved to the ENT ward and later to the orthopedic ward, where preparations for a necessary surgery commenced”. He said.

“Regrettably, despite the medical team’s efforts and the progress made in preparing for the surgery, the family of the patient decided to sign a “Leaving Against Medical Advice” form on January 1, 2024”. He added.

“This unexpected development disrupted the scheduled surgical procedure and hampered the hospital’s ability to provide further medical assistance”.

Dr. Haastrup explained that despite the circumstances, the Management of National Hospital Abuja expresses sincere well-wishes for the actor’s swift recovery.

The hospital reiterate its commitment to providing quality healthcare and acknowledges the challenges encountered in this particular case.
The statement aims to set the record straight and assure the public that the institution remains dedicated to delivering high-quality medical services to its patients, including prominent figures like Zack Orji.
