Monarch Celebrates Maiden Ofala Festival In Anambra State

 The traditional ruler of Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra, State Igwe Daniel Obelle held his first Ofala and Ịgụ Arọ which in Igbo cultural calendar ,replicates both traditional and customary significance of the Igbo people which are used to appreciate God for years past and as well access the community’s developmental strides while projecting a positive vision in years to come.
The monarch said that his first mission as the leader of the community is to ensure indivisible unity and progress of his people and as well as to ensure that youths of the village, especially graduates, are properly empowered to help in the development of the community and Njikoka at large.
Igwe Obelle commended Nawfia citizens for always supporting positive developmental initiatives, noting that with the right assemblage of resources, the town will develop more than notable towns in Anambra State.
On his part, the President General of Nawfia Progressive Union, Chief Daniel Okoye explained that Igwe Obelle serves as a right influence on the community and its indigenes, saying that the individuals who received chieftaincy titles were individuals who distinguished themselves by facilitating developmental projects in the town and state.
He expressed hope that the honour will encourage them to continue bringing about programmes and projects that will bring development to the community and state in general.
Speaking earlier in the homily, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor congratulated the town for chosing peace over backwardness and prayed for the peace, love and unity as the traditional ruler continues in the right path of God for years to come.
Anambra State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mrs. Chiamaka Nneke, the Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Protocol to Anambra State Governor, Chief Chinedu Nwoye who are both from the community, the member representing Njikoka II in the state House of Assembly, Honourable Chidi Ibemeka, among others, called for peace and unity in Anambra State and Nigeria in general, while paying homage to the traditional ruler.
