COAS Lauds TRADOC for Advancing Nigerian Army’s Operational Excellence

Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has commended the Training and Doctrine Command of the Nigerian Army (TRADOC) for the conference aimed at bolstering the application of the Nigerian Army doctrine.
This significant event, designed to foster effective training and operations, marks the initiation of key training activities for the year.
Represented by Director of Training, Major General Sani Gambo Mohammed, the Chief of Army Staff praised the conference’s theme, “Enhancing Operational Effectiveness in a Joint Environment Through Tailor-Made Training.”
He underscored its alignment with his command philosophy, envisioning the transformation of the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped, and highly motivated force dedicated to fulfilling constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment.
Addressing the diverse range of military operations undertaken by the Nigerian Army, Lagbaja highlighted the pivotal importance of training aligned with the doctrine. He emphasized the pillars of leadership, operational effectiveness, and administration as crucial elements in addressing contemporary security challenges within a joint environment.
The Chief of Army Staff urged participants to actively engage in the conference, emphasizing its pivotal role in enhancing approaches to training on operational engagements.
“The knowledge and professional competence gained from the conference would significantly shape the implementation of training policies for the year,” he added.

Lagbaja acknowledged the unwavering support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Defence, Minister of State for Defence, and members of the National Assembly.
He also recognized the contributions of senior colleagues and invited guests for honoring the conference’s invitation.

TRADOC Commandant, Major General Kelvin Aligbe, highlighted the conference’s focus on jointness, language, and the transformation of the Nigerian Army.
Emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts with various government entities to enhance national security, he announced the arrival of multimedia platforms for real-time training at 18 schools following the conference.

“The TRADOC conference not only received commendation from the Chief of Army Staff but also showcased a collaborative and forward-looking approach to training and operational effectiveness within the Nigerian Army,” the commandant said.
He assured that the conference will play a pivotal role in shaping the future trajectory of the Nigerian Army’s capabilities and preparedness.
“The TRADOC conference stands as a testament to the commitment towards advancing the operational excellence of the Nigerian Army, setting the stage for a more prepared and efficient defense force in the future.”
