Nasarawa NAWOJ, SWAN Felicitates Governor Sule on Supreme Court Verdict

The Nasarawa State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has felicitated Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State on his recent affirmation by the Supreme Court as the duly elected governor of the state during the  March 18 governorship poll.

In a statement signed by NAWOJ chairpersons Nasarawa state chapter, Hadiza Umar and made available to journalists in the state.

NAWOJ believes that with the judgment delivered by the Apex Court on January 19, the governor can now settle down to deliver good governance to the people of the state irrespective of their religious, ethnic, and political affiliations like he has been doing in the last four years.”

The women journalists appeal to the women-friendly governor to consider more women for appointment into different positions in his government to enable them to contribute to the development of the state.

NAWOJ also congratulated the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. David Emmanuel Ombugadu, for toeing the constitutional path of justice through the judiciary to seek redress.

Peace and unity

NAWOJ also calls on the PDP and its candidate to accept the outcome of the Apex Court in order to ensure peace and unity in the state and offer suggestions that will help the government to succeed.

Similarly, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, (SWAN), Nasarawa State Chapter sees the supreme court confirmation as the people’s wish and reflection of the popular Mandate given to the Governor and his Deputy in 2023 general elections.

In a statement signed by SWAN Secretary Smah George, and made available to journalists in the state.

The Association used the opportunity to also encourage the governor to  continue with the People’s Oriented Programmes and policies tailoring towards improved quality of lives of the Citizens especially in the Sports industry, Security, Education, Health, Urban and Rural Infrastructure, Agriculture and Environment amongst others.

The Association enjoined the people of the state irrespective of inclination to extend their hands of fellowship to our leaders to ensure the best is gotten to the common man, while we are also urging the Governor to engage in rebuilding, and reconciliation process across ranks to achieve meaningful growth and development.
