Firm unveils platform to empower SMEs in Africa

An E-commerce platform MyShopLauncher (MSL), has officially launched its operations to empower, create visibility and redefine business landscape for small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Africa.

MyShop Launcher (MSL) is an innovative e-commerce platform committed to providing a no-cost, no-code storefront for small and medium-sized enterprises in Africa.

The Co-founder of MSL, Akintunde Opawole, said this during the official unveiling of the platform in Lagos,State,South-West, Nigeria.

Quoting a Statista, Opawole said the revenue in the e-commerce market in Africa was projected to continuously increase between 2024 and 2028 by $15 billion.

According to him, after the sixth consecutive increasing year, the market was estimated to reach $45.72 billion and hence a new peak in 2028.

Opawole explained that MSL recognising the struggles faced by African merchants managing their businesses manually, decided to provide visibility through its platform to expand their customer base.

“We developed a product that not only offers a no-code e-commerce storefront free of charge, but a platform that has a genuine commitment to the welfare and growth of SMEs.Beyond transactions, MSL is driven by a deep commitment to understanding and meeting the unique needs of each business owner.

“The platform which was founded two years ago, also provides free access to educational resources and coaching to accelerate the growth and development of SMEs,” Opawole said.

On government intervention, Opawole called for an enabling environment for e-commerce and SMEs to thrive.

He said creating such environment would not only empower enterprises but give them more visibility to sell their products.

He said that e-commerce is becoming a potent tool for government to optimise digitalisation as a key component of economic diversification.

Opawole explained that e-commerce platforms have proven to be critical enablers of economic growth and social development for Nigeria in spite of the myriad challenges occasioned by the tough operating environment.

In order to make things better, ,He explained that MSL was promoting the growth of SMEs by offering sellers its storefront to increase their customer base, reach the target market faster and become more competitive, profitable and sustainable.

“At MSL, we believe that the success of SMEs is not just about transactions; it’s about building relationships, understanding aspirations, and providing unwavering support,” Opawole added.
