Rivers State Governor Swears In Nine ‘Returnee’ Commissioners
Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Friday, swore in nine ‘returnee’ commissioners in the state.
The commissioners who are known loyalists of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, resigned their various appointments in the heat of the face-off between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Wike.
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted at the state Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt
All nine of the commissioners took the oaths at once, beginning with the oath of allegiance.

While congratulating the re-sworn commissioners, Governor Fubara urged them to do what is right for the state.
“I don’t think I have any charge for you. You have already read your charge to uphold the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I urge you to do the right thing.
“I can see how heavy your hearts are. I don’t blame you. You were caught in the crossfire,” Fubara said.
Governor Fubara spoke further: “I will advise that you give your best. Like I said the first time, let this State and posterity remember you for what is good.”
The confirmed commissioners are Prof Zacchaeus Adangor, Dr Jacobson Nbina, Dr Gift Worlu, Mrs Inimefien Aguma, Chukwuemeka Woke, Prof Chinedu Mmom, Dr Dakorinama George-Kelly, Isaac Kamalu, and Mr Ben Chioma.
