Three BGF Members Get WABMA Scholarships

Three members of the Broadcasters Global Forum, BGF, have been awarded scholarships by the West African Broadcast and Media Academy, WABMA, a leading media training in Africa.

The award, the second of its kind, is a 50% co-pay scholarship to enable the recipients undergo hands-on training in courses of their choice at the WABMA Academy’s training centres in Lagos and Abuja for over a period of 5 weeks.

BGF is a virtual forum comprising veteran and practising Media professionals across a dozen countries joined by a common vision of enhancing broadcasting/media standards globally.

Fully paid programme

Members of the group have provided the counterpart funding of 50% to make the scholarship, valued at N50, 000.00 per course participant, fully paid.

In the scholarship notification letter signed by WABMA Registrar Joseph Obari, Esq, the Rector, Mr Ken Okere stated that “the scholarships were awarded in recognition of the recipients’ interest in and contributions to the learning activities of BGF.”

Okere had served as Director of the National Broadcast Academy (formerly FRCN Training School Lagos) and is passionate about professional training and human resource development.

Last year, WABMA awarded BGF member, Sandra Udeike of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, a full scholarship to its 2023 Masterclass In Presentation And Public Speaking.
