Liverpool Outclasses Chelsea At Anfield

Liverpool retained its five (5) point lead at the top of the Premier League table after outclassing Chelsea 4-1 in a thrilling encounter at Anfield.

Chelsea started with Cole Palmer in attack, with Raheem Sterling and Noni Madueke on the wings. For Liverpool, Darwin Nunez led the line while Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz were on the flanks.

Winger Jota opened the scoring for Liverpool, before defender Conor Bradley scored his first senior goal for the home side to leave Chelsea two goals down.

Forward Nunez hit the post with a penalty kick before the halftime whistle for Liverpool as the scores remained 2-0.

In the second half, Liverpool made it 3-0 courtesy of a header by Dominic Szoboszlai on the 65th minute mark.

Substitute Christopher Nkunku pulled one back for Chelsea in the 71st minute and was very unlucky not to be awarded a penalty moments later.

However, Liverpool winger Diaz put the result beyond doubt when the scored the home side’s fourth.

The match finished 4-1 as Liverpool thrashed Chelsea to extend its lead at the top of the table to five (5) points after another exciting match day.

Liverpool, who are unbeaten at Anfield this season in all competitions, have 51 points after 22 games. Manchester City, who have a game in hand, are second and level on points with third-place Arsenal with 46.

For Chelsea, they remain 10th on the Premier League table.

Liverpool will next face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday in what promises to be a thrilling clash, while Chelsea host Wolves also on Sunday.
