ACCI to Inaugurate New President on February 8

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ACCI, says it remains committed to playing a pivotal role in fostering the region’s economic growth, collaboration, and innovation, as it prepares to inaugurate Mr Emeka Obegolu, its 12th President on February 8, 2024.

The Chamber in a  statement by its Media/Strategy Officer Olayemi John-Mensah noted that beyond the official proceedings, the event will provide valuable networking opportunities for business community members, community leaders, and Chamber members, contributing to the overall growth of rhe businesses ecosystem.

“The occasion is set to mark the official unveiling of the 12th President of ACCI, along with the Executive Council members, Trade Groups Chairmen, and the Centre’s Governing Council.”

Mr Obegolu, SAN, who took office on December 14, 2023, was elected as the 12th President by the ACCI governing body.

“He is presently leading the Organised Private Sector in the FCT, he is a Senior and Founding Partner of Greenfield Chambers, holding an LL.B from the Faculty of Law, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Mr Obegolu is a distinguished Arbitrator and Mediator, holding fellowships from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC).

His experience includes acting as Sole Arbitrator, Presiding Arbitrator, and Counsel in commercial arbitrations, and as a Mediator in labour, commercial, family, and communal disputes,” the statement added.

The statement further noted that Leaders of Government and industry, the diplomatic community including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barr Nyesom Wike, and the Minister of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI), Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite, are set to be guests at the upcoming inauguration.
