Kano State Rerun Election: Voting Commences in Six LGA’s

Voting is in progress in the six Local Governments Areas of Kano state, for the Rerun state constituencies.

Voters in 66 polling units are casting their ballots in three House of Assembly constituencies of the state.

A visit by Voice of Nigeria to Kura Local Government shows hundreds of Voters in Polling Units 009 Auzunawa in Kurunsumau ward casting their votes in an orderly manner.

The situation was the same at Kosawa and Dan Hassan wards of Kura Local Government.

There were combined security of Military, Police and Civil Defence corp manning and patrolling Kura town and the polling units visited.

Speaking in an interview, the Presiding officer one PO1 polling unit 009, Auzunawa Yahya Musa said all election materials have been provided and the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System BIVAS machine was working well.

“I have enough election materials and the BIVAS machine is functioning very well without any hitch. 

“The voters came out early enough and they are cooperating.” Musa said.

The Rerun Election order was given by the Court of Appeal in Abuja in it’s judgements on the disputed March 18, 2023 House of Assembly Elections.
