The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, and his Deputy, Benjamin Kalu, have expressed excitement over the qualification of the Super Eagles of Nigeria into the final of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) taking place in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Speaker, who was visibly elated by the feat the Super Eagles achieved, said he was hopeful that the Nigerian national football team would bring the trophy back home.

Speaker Abbas, while wishing the Super Eagles the best of luck in the final on Sunday, said Nigerians are fully behind the national team.

The Speaker is expected to be in Côte d’Ivoire on Sunday to cheer up the Super Eagles.
On his part, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria on their victory against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

Hon. Kalu said that the team has shown commendable resilience in their previous outings, charging them to stay even more compact in the finals.
The Deputy Speaker who noted that the players have made all Nigerians happy with their winning streak also charged them to be focused on winning the trophy, saying that it is now in their court having scaled through all hurdles to reach the peak.
Kalu assured the Super Eagles of the National Assembly’s support.
Nigeria in a nervy, tension-filled competition on Thursday night won South Africa in a penalty shootout after the match ended 1-1 in regulation time.
With the victory, the legendary Super Eagles have booked their place in the finals of the tournament.
