Army restates commitment to improve education standard of Command Schools

The Nigerian Army Education Corps (NAEC) has reiterated its commitment to continuously improving the standard of education in all Command schools, in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s command philosophy .

Education Corps Commander, Major General Bello Tsoho made the statement at the headquarters Nigerian Army Education Corps end of year 2023 West African Social Activities (WASA) held in Lagos State Southwest Nigeria.
Maj. Gen Tsoho while giving perspective on how he was able to transform the  schools said the Nigerian Army Education Corps has  continued to strive towards improving the standard and quality of education which is being achieved through a number of innovative policies as contained in his vision.
To have a professionally transformed Nigerian Army Education Corps (NAEC) that is adaptably poised in building sustainable platforms for Educational development of the Nigerian Army in support of COAS’ Command philosophy in line with my blueprint. These efforts are far reaching and cut across all the segments of the corps. They include the implementation of the policy of admitting a maximum of 40 students only per class, harmonization of scheme of work and co-curricular activities in Command schools.intensification of capacity development, institutionalization of reward and sanctions amongst others.”
Tsoho said that there has been infrastructural development in various schools in addition to the conduct of numerous seminars and conferences aimed at enhancing the performance of all NAEC personnel.
He opined that WASA,apart from being an avenue to celebrating cultural heritage, it is also enshrined in the Nigerian Army customs and traditions to promote regimentation and strengthen the bonds of friendship among military personnel and their families.
Maj. Gen. Tsoho appreciated officers and men of the Nigerian Army for a successful year 2023 while tasking them for more dedication , hardwork, discipline and be positive mindset as they look forward to a more fulfilling year 2024.
In his remarks, the Special Guest of Honour, Major General Simeon Kayode Oni (retired) said the 2023 was indeed a very busy and tasking year for the troops and personnel in the army and was characterized by so many successful operations, trainings and troops exercises, seminars, conferences, parades and other administrative activities.
Major General Simeon Kayode Oni stated that WASA is an age long cultural tradition that the colonial founding fathers of the West African frontiers force from where the Nigerians Army emerged , employed to strengthen social cohesion among personnel and their families.
According to him, it is an event to appreciate the troops and personnel to celebrate an outgoing year and to ruminate over the happenings in the outgone years as well as plan for the coming years. This prepares them for undiluted commitment to all trainings, operational and administrative activities lined up for the new year.
He urged all officers and men of the army to buckle up for the higher task, while charging them to remain steadfast in their commitment to duties and the attainment of the Chief Of Army Staff’s Command philosophy.
The colourful event featured cultural display, silent drill, tug of war, entertainment/cultural troupe displays, beating of retreat and presentation of gifts and awards to deserving soldiers.
