The Bayelsa State Chief Judge, Justice Matilda Abrakasa Ayemieye has sworn-in Senator Douye Diri as governor of Bayelsa State, Southern, Nigeria and the deputy governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
The Inauguration/swearing-in ceremony took place on the 14th of February 2024 at the main Bowl, Samson Siasia Sports Complex Ovom, Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, Southern, Nigeria.
This is the second term in office of Senator Douye Diri as governor of Bayelsa State, Southern, Nigeria and the deputy governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
Lots of politicans from Nigeria and across the globe came to witness the event. These politicians include, the Vice president of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, two Former presidents of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, the Vice President of Liberia, all the governors in the Niger Delta region, governor of Kano State, Northern Nigeria and Bayelsa State indigenes among others.
