The equities market held it down in the positive territory again on Friday to make it the third consecutive day of gains and close the week bullish.
The all-share index rose by 1.56% or 1,622.78 basis points to close at 105,722.78 basis points while the market capitalisation of equities appreciated by N888 billion to close trading at N57,849 trillion.
Friday’s trading had a total of 342.51 million shares with market value of N8.04 billion traded in 8,395 deals.
The top three stocks that pushed the day’s gains were BUA Foods which gained 10% to close at N357.50k followed by PZ Cussons Nigeria also with price appreciation of 10% and a closing price of N30.25k. Geregu Power also made its mark with 9.9% price rise and a closing price of N901.00k per share.
However,companies like Flour Mills Nigeria had a price decline of 10% to close trading at N35.10k while Livestock Feeds also lost 10% to close at N1.71k then Meyer followed closely with 9.97% loss and a closing price of N5.60k.
First Bank Holdings remained the toast of investors on the last day of trading for the week as it recorded the highest volume of trade of 49.9 million shares and was followed by United Bank for Africa with 36.9 million shares.
