The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) have reiterated their commitment to seek innovative ways and solutions to enhance their collaborative efforts at safeguarding the nation’s air space.
This was made known when the Managing Director of NAMA, Umar Farouq led a delegation to interface with the Chief of the Air, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar and his team at NAF Headquarters, Abuja.
At the meeting, Farouq said “The crucial role of NAMA in safeguarding the Nation’s airspace while also appreciating the existing cooperation between both organizations on various fronts”.
He also reaffirmed NAMA’s commitment to their existing collaboration with the NAF, which have translated to impressive gains in airspace management, safety, and overall national security of Nigeria.
Umar also went on to note that NAMA and the NAF can achieve significant benefits from collaboration in the areas of search and rescue coordination, technology and innovation, information sharing and data exchange.
In his response, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar recounted the long existing cordial relationship that has continued to fester between the 2 organizations, which he noted has enhanced the security of Nigeria’s air space.
According to the CAS, “Our collaboration can reach new heights and our combined efforts can lead to even safer and secure skies in our beloved country. We must, therefore, maintain this trajectory and seek better avenues to enhance our collaboration.”
He then assured Farouq of NAF’s commitment to solidify and strengthen the existing relationship between NAMA and the NAF.
Air Marshal Abubakar also used the occasion of the visit to congratulate Farouq on his well-deserved appointment.
“Indeed, judging by your pedigree, outstanding performance and wealth of experience in the aviation industry, I have no doubt that you will take the Agency to greater heights.”
