Child-Rearing: Anambra Governor’s Wife partners with NGO

The wife of Anambra’s Governor, Mrs Soludo and a Non-Governmental Organization, All For Women Iniative Nigeria, A-WIN have collaborated to re-invigorate communal upbringing of children in the state.

Mrs Soludo who made this known when she received in audience a delegation of A-WIN, at the Governor’s lodge Amawbia, assured the group of her collaboration through her pet project Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo

She frowned at communal parenting which African societies were known for is being lost which the consequences is the rise in crime, loss of valuable etiquettes and moral decadence in our society.

Anambra first lady re-emphasized the importance of healthy living among women as the engine house to healthy family and asked women to pay attention to what they eat.

For her part, the state Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Mrs. Ify Obinabo, recounted the various breakthroughs the present administration has recorded in the effort to end domestic maltreatment and abuse and explained that these success and justice delivered for victims are the reason more people are confident to speak up and speak out when they bear witness or become victim of such incidents.

Earlier, the Founder of A-WIN, Stella Igboka decried at the status of women in the modern Nigerian society despite numerous efforts to change the narrative, emphasizing that this has continued to greatly contribute to the exposure of the gender to many societal vices.

Igboka invited Mrs Soludo to the summit being organized by the group during this year’s International Women’s Day celebration which she said will be their first major step to addressing the challenges facing women in the society.
