International Communities have been called upon to do everything possible to end Israeli occupation of Palestinian land and declare independent State of Palestine to achieve lasting peace in the region.

The  Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Nigeria,Abdullah Abu Shaweh stated this during his weekly briefing in Abuja, Nigeria’s Capital.

Palestinian Presidential Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh said  “If the World is genuinely interested in having security and stability in the region, it must end Israeli occupation of Palestinian land and recognize an independent Palestinian State with Jerusalem as it’s Capital.”

On Israeli Post- War Plan

The Ambassador said “While we are close to the end of the fifth month of the genocidal Israel war against the Palestinian people, last Friday the Israeli Prime Minister released the “day after” plan for Gaza, aiming to maintain his coalition and save his political skin.”

Abu Shaweh said Israel’s Prime Minister rejected the unilateral recognition of the Palestinian State and also called for shutting down of the Palestinian Aid Agency UNRWA.

“The scale and gravity of the humanitarian catastrophe caused by Israel’s relentless bombardment, destruction and suffocating siege puts more than two million Palestinians of Gaza at risk of irreparable harm.

Israel’s clear policy is to make Gaza an unlivable place after the war, so that evenif habitants are not forced to leave under the fire, they will do so voluntarily due tolack of hospitals,Schools, universities, drinkable water, and other basic necessities for human life,”the Envoy lamented

While vaguely worded, and appealing to his domestic rightwing political base, the document entitled “The Day After Hamas Principles” is the first official distillation of Netanyahu’s post war plan.

Dividing Gaza’s future into near, medium and long-term phases, it makes clear that Israel will continue its long-running blockade of the territory, and intends to remain involved in civilian issues, from how the local police operate and what the schools and mosques teach in the predominantly Sunni Muslim territory.

In practice, it could see a full-scale resumption of Israel’s control of the enclave and its 2.3mn population, combining elements of its decades-long occupation with the punishing blockade that was instituted two years after the 2005 disengagement, when the Israeli military pulled out of Gaza.

On Worship At Al-Aqsa Mosque

“More than 200 fanatic Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque guarded by the occupation force where they performed Talmudic ritual, while the occupation authorities continue to impose restrictions on the Muslim worshipers, preventing all the young men and boys from entering while subjecting all others to be extensively checked,” Abu Shaweh said.

The UN Spokesman said, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan for the post-war in Gaza is against the two-state.

“Israeli’s plan goes against everything that we hope for the people of Palestinians and Israelis to live in peace side by side,” UN Secretary stressed.

The death toll in the Gaza Strip was 29,878 Martyrs, with 70,215 injuries and around 8,000 people still missing under the rubble, Envoy said.
