The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Stanley Mbam has received a certificate of Integrity Stewardship Award as a Service Ambassador from Advocacy for Peace and Values Re-Orientation in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital
Voice Of Nigeria reports that the award is in recognition of his zeal towards selfless service to society, devoid of corrupt practices.
In an acceptance speech, the commissioner thanked the organization for finding him fit for the honour. He further dedicated the award to the State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, adding that the governor has provided the enabling environment for him to excel.
“The Governor is a team player and he does not compromise standard. Sincerely I wish to dedicate this Award to him. His admonitions to members of the State Executive Council has always been for us to be of good conduct and put in our best in promoting good governance, through dedication and excellent service delivery,” he noted.
Mbam promised to continue to be a good ambassador of the State anywhere he finds himself, and urged Ebonyi people and Nigerians to be patient with the Federal Government; while the current economic hardship lasted.
According to him, “I want to assured you that things will soon get better in the country, the challenges we face today in the country will soon become a thing of the past the Federal and State governments are not resting on their oars to end the difficulties.”
Earlier while presenting the certificate to the commissioner, the Director of Advocacy for Peace and Values Re-Orientation, Comrade Abubakar Oyibo said that Mbam’s nomination for the award was based on independent assessment which was confidentially conducted with emphasis on personality behavior and attitude towards leadership and managerial competence.
His words: “we consider many factors before a person can be qualified for such an award. So, having been satisfied with the assessment report, we hereby confer on you this honor as a compensation for display of integrity and service to humanity and as well enlist you as one of the most ethically responsible personalities that meets up with our assessment standard within the period under review.”
