The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission, NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite has pledged the commission’s partnership with Voice of Nigeria for the projection of a positive image for Nigeria.

Speaking when the Director General, Voice of Nigeria, Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace and his entourage paid him a courtesy call, Bishop Adegbite said, “The two for us must work together in synergy. Nigeria is one country, one nation. Nigeria is bigger than any of us and that is why we must guide it jealously. There is no other nation we can go to.”

Bishop Adegbite who is one hundred days in office said NCPC keys into the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“To collaborate with you, to ensure that we work together for a better Nigeria is not something that we should negotiate. And if we do activities and we are not being projected, we are not doing anything. And if we have been given a platform to operate and you are dedicating a special programme for us, definitely we are going to absorb that”. He said

He pledged to ensure that VON gets a space on the list of media correspondents on pilgrimage.

For his part, the Director General VON, Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace said committed to enhancing Nigeria’s foreign policy, VON was a better platform to amplify the position of pilgrims as ambassadors of Nigeria.

“Our responsibility because of the wisdom of our fore-fathers looking at the special case Nigeria, on the continent of Africa and also of the world. As a torch-bearer not just of Africa and other parts of the world. So our own is to continuously be on the fore-front of telling these stories”. He said.

The DG VON reiterated the importance of changing the negative narrative of Nigeria, particularly of those who go on pilgrimage.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for having an eye for the right people for the right positions in Nigeria.

The DG appealed to the Executive Secretary NCPC to continue to pray for Nigeria.
