The Director – General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace has commended the efforts of the Chairman, Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers, Igwe Samuel Asadu, for collaborating with other traditional rulers in Nigeria to foster peace and unity.

He said the traditional ruler had continued to play a remarkable role of offering tangible opinions on national issues, especially when controversial and divergent opinions were threatening the oneness of the country.

Mallam Ndace said; “I want to commend you for rising up with other traditional rulers in Nigeria in to always tow the path of eschewing peace. We come to people like you for advice and I know that even the political class seeks your credible views on good governance and democracy dividends to the people.

“I am here first, to seek for Royal blessings and to inform you that Voice of Nigeria is in Enugu state. We are here for you and Voice of Nigeria as an international broadcasting institution, would deliberately strive to portray good narratives about Nigeria, Africa and others to the world, especially to Africans in the Diaspora.”

The traditional ruler, Igwe Samuel Asadu of Edem-Ani of Ogwugwu ancient Kingdom in Nsuka Local Government Area of Enugu State Southeast Nigeria, is renowned for his development strides and philanthropy for the people in his domain and beyond.

He established and equipped a world class hospital for the community. He also set up several empowerment projects for youths, sponsored indigent students in all levels of education and embarked on several housing projects for people of the community.

Among his philanthropy projects, is a well organised, personally funded “Ndani food bank” that caters to feeding hundreds of people on a daily basis.

His exemplary rulership style is defined by selfless service to the people of the community, through providing basic needs and amenities to both young and old, who are mostly living in an agrarian society.

VON DG praised him for giving back so much to his community, in such a short period of assuming the throne and prayed for more wisdom to the monarch for the people to benefit from his immense love of giving back, in terms of daily upkeep and Infrastructure development.

The Traditional Ruler, His Royal Majesty Igwe Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu thanked VON DG for the visit to his kingdom to seek royal blessings and also to intimate him about the operation, mission and vision of Voice of Nigeria.

Igwe Asadu likened leadership position in an organisation to a striker in football match whose goal is always focused on scoring despite being among a team of players, therefore the DG VON must never lose focus in his determination to project Nigeria and Africa positively to the world.

He also advised him to always carry his workers along and never deny anyone his or her rights, but to always ensure that workers are happy while discharging their duties.

VOV DG paid a visit to the traditional ruler, on the sideline of his official tour of VON zonal office in Southeast Enugu State.

He paid the special visit to the traditional ruler at his Royal Palace in Edem-Ani of Ogwugwu ancient Kingdom in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, Southeast Nigeria.
