The Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) in Kano state North West Nigeria says, it is poised to unlock new frontiers in space Research, Technology and Exploration.
The President MAAUN Professor Mohammed Israr made the commitment at the Launch of space Education and Incubation Centre for the Institution in Kano.
According to him, the center will provide a nurturing environment for ideas to flourish, thereby connecting students, faculty and industry experts in the pursuit of knowledge and discovery.
Professor Israr noted that, the MAAUN in collaboration with Desert Sky Exploration will work together in that direction to achieving more space Research and Education.
He said, “this center I believe will serve as a hub for interdisciplinary research, innovation and entrepreneurship, providing our students and faculty with the resources and support needed to thrive in the field of space Education.”
Also, the Chief Executive Officer CEO Desert Sky Exploration Abdukadir Nuhu Aminu explained that, the space Education center will serve as a beacon of hope and possibilities where ideas will flourish, innovation will be born and foundations of Nigeria and Africa’s economy will be laid.
“The establishment of this center is an acknowledgement that Africa, with its vast talent and untapped potential, is ready to step forward to claim its place in the global space industry.”
The CEO Desert Sky Exploration noted that, the center, will serve as a hub for Education, where the brightest minds from across Africa will gather to learn, to dream and to innovate as students will no longer be customers of knowledge but creators of new technologies, methodologies and new solutions to the challenges facing the continent.
He said, “innovation like this one are vital in shaping Africa’s role in the global space industry. They provide the infrastructure and support necessary for young innovators and entrepreneurs to thrive.”
Aminu urged students to embrace the advantage in leading Africa into the new space age.
The Kano State Commissioner of Science and Technology Alhaji Mohammed Zaura represented by Special Assistant Yusuf Ibrahim, expressed the commitment of the state in supporting the space Education and research initiatives.
