Anambra State Transporters Applaud Governor On Environmental Infrastructure Initiative 

The commendation was made during a one-day inspection and monitoring tour of ongoing and completed projects spearheaded by the governor. Led by National Coordinator Comrade Osita Obi, the group aimed to understand how their tax contributions are being utilized.

At the Okpoko General Hospital in Ogbaru Local Government Area, Obi emphasized the importance of their inspection, stating, “Okpoko is one of the largest slums in West Africa, which influenced our decision to witness the changes firsthand.” He articulated that the tour also served to promote the government’s achievements from a grassroots perspective, urging registered voters in Anambra to support Governor Soludo’s reelection bid for the 2025 gubernatorial election.

Obi highlighted notable advancements made under Soludo’s administration, including the employment of 5,000 teachers, the revival of the healthcare system with free antenatal care and childbirth services, and the empowerment of 5,000 youths through the “One Youth, Two Skills” initiative, which aims to reduce crime and drug abuse among young people.

Applauding the media for their role in positively projecting Soludo’s administration, Obi remarked, “As Soludo continues to transform Okpoko, his unwavering commitment to urban regeneration and the overall well-being of Anambra residents is evident. Our initiative to evaluate government projects demonstrates a growing civic engagement and demand for accountability in the state.”

The Secretary-General of Solution Marshall, Comrade Emmanuel Oramalu, emphasized that Governor Soludo is effectively delivering democracy’s dividends without being preoccupied with the next election. “Through Soludo, the narrative of Okpoko has changed; the infrastructure improvements—including hospitals, schools, roads, and access to potable water—are transformative,” he stated.

Prince Ezenwa Udoka, Vice President of Okpoko, expressed the community’s satisfaction with the changes, declaring, “Okpoko is now a new haven. With new hospitals and roads illuminated by street lights, we no longer travel far for medical treatment.”

Mr. Felix Asimone, Chairman of the Anambra State Drivers Union, voiced a collective sentiment among transporters, stating, “We have paid substantial taxes, and it is rewarding to see the governor’s actions reflect our contributions. The results from our observation during this tour are impressive; we wholeheartedly support him, especially in his quest for a second term.”

Senior Medical Officer at Okpoko General Hospital, Dr. K.C. Nnadi, commended the governor’s pioneering initiatives, noting that the facility serves around 120 patients monthly and has made significant strides in community healthcare. She highlighted Soludo’s commitment to improving access to clean water and essential medical services.

Chief Medical Director of Ekwulobia General Hospital, Dr. Chinelo Madubuike praised the governor for addressing healthcare disparities and noted that the facility previously lacking adequate resources now operates efficiently, saving lives and improving patient care quality.

The tour included inspections of several key projects, such as the construction of the Ekwulobia flyover, rehabilitated slum areas, and ongoing developments at the Okpoko General Hospital.

As Governor Soludo continues his agenda for transformation in Anambra, both project achievements and the feedback from residents reflect a community increasingly invested in a brighter future.
