The postal manager, who spoke through the Head of Postal Controller, Kano, Mr. Nuhu Ali, in an interview with Voice of Nigeria, said that the advent of mobile phone communication devices has expanded their service delivery to people.

He explained that, NIPOST does not only deal with stamps alone but also different services, as the agency has now diversified.

“It is not only for post a lone, when you travel to Israel or Saudi Arabia you can send your luggage from there through any of the Post office any where. no need for you to carry your luggage.”

Suleiman noted that, even financial transactions can be conducted with NIPOST by sending cash for delivery.

“All our products are available across the country, both delivery, cargo and coria service as well as other activities for logistics and consignment.”

He called on Nigerians to patronise NIPOST for effective service delivery.

World Post Day is observed annually which was removed and declared by the Universal Postal Union UPU Congress held in Tokyo, Japan in 1969. The Posts in many countries use the event to introduce or promote new postal products and services.

The purpose of World Post Day is to create awareness of the role of the postal sector in people’s and businesses’ everyday lives and its contribution to the social and economic development of countries.

The celebration encourages member countries to undertake programme activities aimed at generating a broader awareness of their Post’s role and activities among the public and media on a national scale.
