Ebonyi: Police partners with Stakeholders to combat crime

The Nigeria Police of Ebonyi State Command has organized an engagement meeting with the Stakeholders in the State to combat crime.

This is part of the activities marking the 2024 Customer Service Week organized by the Nigeria Police Force’s Service Compact Delivery (SERVICOM).

The Commissioner of Police, Mrs Anthonia Anya disclosed this in her opening remarks during the Stakeholders meeting with the Nigeria Police, which took place at the Police Officer’s Mess in Abakaliki the state capital.

The meeting was to ensure that Law and Order are maintained in all nooks and crannies of the State.

“I called for this meeting to inform you the level of Youths restiveness in our different communities and to seek ways to curb it in the State

“As we all know that the moment Law and Order are maintained, there will be unity, Love and above all, development”. Anya said.

She said police cannot do it alone as security is everybody’s business and therefore called on everyone topPartner with Police for a peaceful environment.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation Department, Mr Marvelous Ikorivibe said the public should at all times allow Law to take it place instead of taken law into their hands.

The Officer in charge of Service Compact Delivery Ebonyi State Command, Mrs  Rekpene Ukpabi Ekoh said the public have the right to be served right.

She urged the general public to always report for anything you thought that police had infringe on their rights.

The State Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria ALGON Ebonyi State Chapter, Mr Moses  Ogodoalinome on behalf of other Local Governments.

The Chairmen appreciated the CP for her efforts in ensuring that Ebonyi State is permanently peaceful.

He called on the Nigeria Police to always arrest anyone holding any wire, cables or iron already installed as vandals have vandalized all Government installations using Ebonyi State University Permanent Site Fence as an example and they do it in the name of scrap dealers.

Moreso, His Royal Highness, Sunday Oketa appreciated the CP for Organizing the meeting as it would help to plan for regular peace and crime-free state.
