Felabration: Skales, May D, Durella thrill audience in Lagos State
The city of Lagos witnessed thrilling performances at the New Afrika Shrine in celebration of Felebration 2024. The musical concert is part of the activities for “Felebration” – an annual musical festival held in memory and celebration of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Themed “Look and Laugh”, the music festival is held from Oct. 14 to Oct. 20.
The concert saw artists like Skales, May D and Durella perform as the crowd danced and partied all night long in the Afrika shrine. Durella performed his hit singles, “Shayo”, “My Life”, and “Wiskolowiska”, while May D performed his songs which include “So Many Tinz”, “Gat Me High” and “Shayo” amongst others.
Mr Olumide Sumi, a student, said he was excited about the event and commended the organisers for the initiative
“I have never had the opportunity to see any of these artists perform live, so, I’m super excited about this as it has been sending shivers down my spine.
“I have always been a fan of Durella, Skales and May D and I have finally had the opportunity to see them face to face,” he said.
Felabration has hosted renowned international artists and features diverse activities, including debates, dance competitions, art exhibitions, and more, all aimed at honouring Fela’s profound contributions to society.
