The Katsina State office of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has organised a town hall meeting focused on the National Values Charter and the National Anthem.

The event, held in Katsina, brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organisations, women’s associations, traditional and religious leaders, as well as students, among others.

Katsina State Deputy Governor, Faruk Lawal Jobe, while delivering his remarks at the occasion expressed concern over the decay in societal values among citizens and called for collective action to address the problem.

He said it is the responsibility of all Nigerians to rise and work as a united force to change the situation and set the nation on the right path.

The Deputy Governor said Nigeria as a country is richly blessed with abundant natural resources and a wealth of human talent, lamenting that both are being misused and underutilised

He explained that the non-utilisation of these natural resources hinders national progress.

Jobe reminded Nigerians that the tasks of rebuilding the nation and redefining its future are enormous, emphasising that both leaders and citizens must all rise to achieve such an objective.

He described the town hall meeting as timely because of serious moral and ethical challenges facing the nation.

“It is imperative that we revive and reemphasise our shared value to ensure a prosperous and united Nigeria,” he said.

Jobe urged participants of the meeting to internalise the message of the National Values Charter and reflect on the meaning of the National Anthem.

The Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Katsina State, Muntari Tsagem, recently voiced his concerns regarding the inadequate display of the National flag by government agencies at both federal and state levels. He pointed out that only a few agencies actually display the flag, and those that do often use substandard flags or fail to handle them properly.
