A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and contender for the 2025 Anambra State Governorship race, Mr Paul Chukwuma, has spoken out against the recent deadly attack by gunmen in Anambra State.
Reports say the tragic incident occurred in Nibo, a suburb community in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, and claimed the lives of at least 10 people and left several others injured.
In a statement, Mr. Chukwuma called for justice and security reform and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and strongly condemned the senseless act of violence.
He called on security agencies to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators and ensure that justice is served.
Describing the attack as a stark reminder of the deteriorating security situation in Anambra State, Sir Paul Chukwuma emphasised the need for immediate action to protect the communities and prevent further tragedies.
He stressed that the people of Anambra deserve better and urged for a comprehensive investigation to bring those responsible to account.
Mr Chukwuma called for unity and solidarity in the face of adversity, highlighting the importance of collective efforts to address the security challenges facing the state.
He said the incident serves as a wake-up call for decisive action and reform to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents of Anambra State.
