Xiaomi to Complete EV Factory Expansion by Mid-2025
According to state-affiliated Chinese media reports on Wednesday, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi Corp is projected to finish expanding its electric vehicle (EV) factory by mid-2025.
The second phase of the Xiaomi Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Base is set to be completed by June 15, as reported by the National Business Daily, which cited a source familiar with the project.
The report noted that workers are currently working overtime to expedite the project, which is located next to the first-phase factory in Yizhuang New Town, an economic development zone in Beijing that hosts numerous high-tech companies.

Xiaomi did not provide a comment on the report. The company first announced its foray into the EV market in 2021 as a way to diversify beyond its core smartphone business.
Since launching its first electric vehicle, the SU7 sedan, last December, Xiaomi has quickly become a significant player in China’s EV market, having sold a total of 70,000 SU7 units by the end of September, following the start of deliveries in March.
