Lawmakers Mourn Rep Member, Aliyu Bahago

The lawmaker representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Saliu Mustapha has expressed sadness over the death of former House of Representatives member, Aliyu Bahago, who passed away on Thursday.

Mustapha described Bahago’s death as a rude shock, noting that it was a significant loss to the state’s political landscape.

He extended his condolences to the Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, the people of Patigi Local Government Area, and the Ahman-Pategi family, praying that God gives them strength and comfort during this difficult time.

The Senator prayed to Almighty Allah to accept the deceased’s return, forgive his shortcomings, and grant him a place in Al-Jannah Firdaus.

In a related development, the forum of former members of the Kwara State House of Assembly, expressed sadness over the passing of Ahmad Baggo Patigi.

The ex parliamentarians expressed shock over the passing of a Patigi-born politician and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in the state.

A statement issued by the forum and signed by the forum’s Chairman and Secretary, Abraham Ashaolu and Bola Mogaji, described the exit of a foremost ex lawmaker as shocking.

The ex parliamentarians noted that the deceased would be remembered for his immense contributions towards parliamentary democracy in the country.

The statement, however, condoled the immediate family of the deceased, the Etsu Patigi, Patigi community, and the entire people of Edu/Patigi/Moro federal constituency on this unfortunate incident.

It urged the family and the entire Patigi community to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived an exemplary life.

It prayed God to grant the deceased the best of paradise and strengthen the family he left behind. Amen !.

Similarly, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN commiserated with the management, staff, and students of Ahman Pategi University, Patigi, on the death of its founder and Pro-Chancellor,  Aliyu Bahago Ahman Pategi.

In a statement issued by the Director of  Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, on Friday  Prof. Egbewole, who is also the Chairman of the Consortium of Kwara Universities (KU8+), described the death of Hon. Pategi, the proprietor of a prominent member-university of the Consortium, as a rude shock and a sad loss.

The Vice Chancellor said that the death of Alhaji Ahman Patigi, who was a former Member of the House of Representatives, is a great loss not only to the deceased’s family but also to Kwara State, and the nation’s university system .

Prof. Egbewole also commiserated with the Etsu Pategi, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi, and the entire people of Patigi Emirate on the death of an illustrious son and a shining light of the Emirate.

He said the late former federal lawmaker’s contributions to the promotion of education and advancement of his people’s general well-being would not be forgotten in a hurry.

The Vice Chancellor prayed Almighty Allah to overlook the shortcomings of the late politician, philanthropist, and statesman and comfort all the family members and associates he left behind.

The Former Lawmaker died on Thursday at the age of 59.
