Nnobi Women Forum Empowers Community Women Through Annual Summit, Food Distribution

The Inyom Nnobi Women Forum, a unifying platform for women in the Nnobi community of Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State, has taken significant strides to alleviate hunger among indigent women despite the challenging economic climate. During their annual women’s summit, the forum distributed food items to women in need.
Speaking at the event, Lady Ifeyinwa Nnekwelugo, the Women Leader, expressed her pride in the forum’s ability to unite Nnobi women and create a space for meaningful dialogue on critical issues affecting womanhood.

 

In her opening remarks, Lady Ifeyinwa highlighted the summit as an excellent opportunity for Nnobi women to engage in collaborative discussions aimed at developing strategies for their collective benefit.
She urged attendees to remain committed to their responsibilities in promoting the forum’s goals and thanked God for the peace that has been sustained among the women.
Both a member of the House of Representatives and the Idemili South Constituency representative commended the women for their solidarity and emphasized the power of prayer in maintaining peace within the community.
Dr. Nelson Omenugha, representing the Acting Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, lauded the summit for its efforts to elevate the consciousness of Nnobi women, helping them to compete effectively with women from other regions.
He formally inaugurated a new sound system donated by Prof. Kate Omenugha and promised to provide light entertainment for the next summit in 2025.
Mrs. Amaka Obi, the Idemili South Mayor, expressed her appreciation for the educational components of the summit aimed at empowering women and harnessing their potential. She urged women to step out of their comfort zones, tackle the current economic challenges, and move beyond the “House Wife Syndrome.”
She also recognized the Nnobi women’s ongoing support for Governor Soludo’s administration.
The event included the distribution of foodstuffs donated by Dr. Thelma Ezeonu, the Wife of Ikemba Nnobi, to eight women representing the three quarters of the community.
Other highlights included the inauguration of the new sound system, dance performances, and cultural exhibitions that added vibrancy to the occasion.
Hosted at Central School Nnobi, the summit attracted notable dignitaries, including politicians and successful businesswomen from across the state.
Among the attendees were Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo, the member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency; Hon. Barr. Ebuka Igwe, the member representing Idemili South in the State House of Assembly; and various community leaders, all present to show their support for the empowerment of Nnobi women.
