Katsina State, IRC Sign MoU To Support Internally Displaced Persons

The Katsina State Social Investment Programme Agency, KASIPA, has signed a memorandum of understanding with International Rescue Commitee (IRC) to promote issues concerning the welfare of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP’s) and other less privileged persons in the state.

The Executive Director of the Agency, Dr. Mudassir Nasir signed the memorandum of understanding on behalf of the Agency while Mr.Mathew Attah signed on behalf of IRC.

It was witnessed by relevant stakeholders working towards promoting the welfare of IDP’s and other less privileged members of the society.

The signing of the MOU is in line with the commitment of the state’s Administration towards improving the lives of the people affected by armed banditry.

The Executive Director, KASIPA, Dr. Mudanssir Nasir said; “the Agency is determined to partner with more NGOs or any Individual who works in improving the lives of less privileged persons in the state.”

He said; “the Agency has partnered with so many organisations who have keen interest in assisting people affected by insecurity, more especially at this trying time.”

He used the opportunity to commend the Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Radda for the usual support and cooperation he has been given to the Agency which led to so many successes recorded by the agency.

The Manager of IRC in Katsina State Mr. Mathew Attah Onoja said; “the IRC is currently implementing its humanitarian programmes in three Local Government Areas in the state.”

He listed the Local Government Areas which include, Katsina, Batagarawa and Batsari Local Government areas.

The Manager further maintained that the Memorandum Of Understanding would no doubt contribute in expanding the programmes being implemented by the IRC in Katsina State.

He also thanked the state government for it’s zeal in addressing the security challenges facing some parts of the State and for his commitment in assisting those affected by the menace.
