The Anambra State Government Flood Management Team, led by Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has recently taken delivery of food items donated by the Bank of Industry to aid flood-displaced persons in the state.

Accompanied by Commissioner for Trade and Commerce Mr. Christian Udechukwu and Commissioner for Environment Dr. Felix Odimegwu, the team aims to distribute the received items to various local government councils and their affected communities promptly.

In a statement, Deputy Governor Ibezim emphasized the importance of ensuring immediate access to the donated items for the flood victims.

The food combo carton contains essentials such as vegetable oil, semovita, noodles, salt, flour, and sugar, providing much-needed relief in the interim.

Additionally, Commissioner for Environment Dr. Felix Odimegwu urged Anambra philanthropists, companies, religious organizations, and NGOs to join efforts in supporting the affected persons by contributing relief items.

As a member of the flood management team, Dr. Odimegwu highlighted the proactive measures taken by the Environment Ministry in disseminating early warning signs and weekly flood predictions through various channels. This initiative has helped reduce panic, raise awareness, and prompt victims to seek shelter at higher grounds before the flood peaks.
