Nigeria To Host First International Airshow

In line to strengthen Civil Aviation Business in Nigeria Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, said Nigeria will Host the first Nigeria International Airshow at the first quarter of 2025, in Lagos Southwest Nigeria.

The Minister disclose this in Abuja the nation’s capital during a Press briefing.

He said Nigeria is letting the world to know of this great initiative that would pave room for cross-pollinating modern ideas among enormous stakeholders in the aviation industry around the world.

“Products and services from Airboss, Boeing, as well as other big companies in aviation, would be exihibited, intended to project Nigeria as a place where the next big things would happen, and also a hub in Africa for transit and aviation activities.”

This Nigeria International Airshow would opened windows of opportunities for local operators in Nigeria, thus following it up with an Airshow to host the world to see Nigeria’s potential.

The Minister noted that the aim of hosting the event target towards unlocking potential in Nigeria by promoting the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which seeks to promote free trade within the African region, along with the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATAM), that seeks to promote a single African sky with no restriction in the movement of goods and services through aviation within the continent.

This is a call to action and collaboration, as the proposed three-day program would go beyond aviation and also promote the economic activities in Nigeria, with respect to the 1 trillion dollar economy proposed by President Tinubu where the gains of jobs and infrastructural facilities creation would be visible.

The Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria International Airshow Limited, Miss Brian Okonkwo, expressed her gratitude to the Minister for his support in making the initiative a reality, stating that aviation is the first point of call to any country and that the Minister has worked tirelessly for ensuring a smooth journey to the program.
