In a significant step towards improving citizen engagement and governance in Anambra State, a group of technology experts has launched the Techies Unite for Soludo (TUfS) platform. This pioneering digital initiative is designed to facilitate real-time interaction between residents and the government, promoting accountability, transparency, and community involvement.

Unveiled virtually on Friday, the platform serves as an interactive online community, enabling citizens to share innovative ideas, report on local development projects, and interact directly with the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

“Techies Unite for Soludo” brings together tech-savvy young professionals dedicated to establishing Anambra as a leading tech hub in Africa.

Mr Castro Ideke, the programme’s coordinator, highlighted the platform’s unique features, allowing users to share progress reports on the governor’s developmental projects through uploaded images and to engage in meaningful discussions about ongoing initiatives.

“You can ask questions, connect with other tech enthusiasts, and explore job opportunities. What we aim to achieve with TUfS has never been done before.

“Beyond facilitating communication, the platform seeks to strengthen Anambra’s tech ecosystem and encourage collaborative efforts among local tech professionals.”

Mr Jude Emesim, leader of TUfS’s Policy, Partnership, and Innovation team, outlined its alignment with the state’s vision for digital advancement, stating, “TUfS will highlight government achievements and future plans while motivating technologists to contribute to digital development.”

“Key to TUfS’s success is the establishment of infrastructure investments, including Solution Wi-Fi points, which provide free public internet access across the state. This initiative, championed by leading tech figures like Mr Chukwuma Okoye of Activ8 Hub, aims to create a high-density Wi-Fi environment that facilitates seamless access to the TUfS platform.”

In synergy with ongoing governmental efforts, the platform underscores a commitment to advancing the technological initiatives begun by Governor Soludo’s administration.

Ideke emphasised, “TUfS aspires to foster continuous innovation, economic growth, and improved quality of life, reinforcing a technology-driven future for Anambra beyond 2025.

“As the tech community rallies behind this initiative, the overarching goals of Techies Unite for Soludo include conducting thorough assessments of tech gaps in Anambra, developing strategies to address these challenges, and supporting the re-election of the current administration to ensure sustained progress in the state’s digital economy.”
