CAF releases list of Nations for 2025 AFCON

The final list of 24 Nations that have qualified for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 has been finalised following the completion of Match Day 6 of the Qualifiers last night.

The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 will be played in Morocco between 21 December 2025 – 18 January 2026.

The last day of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 Qualfiers delivered drama, suspense and thrill.

The competition will feature all of the top 10 Nations in the Africa FIFA rankings (Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Nigeria, Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Cameroon, Mali, DR Congo)

Former winners, Cameroon, DR Congo, Nigeria, Tunisia, Zambia and South Africa also stamped their tickets to Morocco in style, ensuring the presence of some of the continent’s most iconic nations.

Botswana, the Southern African side, made a dramatic entry in the final 24 following their 1-1 draw against Egypt. Going to the match, Botswana was an outsider trailing in third position in the Group.

Zimbabwe, who have not qualified since 2021, have booked their place following their second place finish after Cameroon in Group J.

Comoros, who showed resilience and determination at the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021 return after they staged their own brave come-back.

The 2025 edition, which promises to continue from the record-breaking Cote d’Ivoire edition also marks the exciting return for Benin (2019), Botswana (2012), Gabon (2021), Uganda (2019) and Sudan (2021) who all make a grand comeback to the competition.

Having evolved into one of the best football competitions in world football, next year’s edition will feature a mix of perennial powerhouses and emerging teams eager to make their mark on the biggest event on African soil.

The qualifiers have also marked the strong intentions of regular features of the tournament such as Angola, Burkina Faso, Mozambique and Tanzania who all secured their tickets to Morocco.
