The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, says arrangements have been concluded and it will soon direct all intending Pilgrims across the state to commence depositing their Hajj fares.
Chairman of the Agency, Aliyu Musa, stated this while updating journalists on their activities ahead of the 2025 exercise in Sokoto.
Musa noted that preliminary preparations for the next year’s pilgrimage have since commenced, but the agency is yet to start selling out seats to any intending pilgrims in the state.
He urged the intending pilgrims to exercise more patience as the agency would soon direct them to commence depositing no fewer than N8.4 million for a seat.
“People should continue to exercise patience as the agency has not commenced receiving any payment from any intending pilgrim.
“I assure you of no distance time we would commence as soon as the agency concluded their final arrangements,” he said.
Aliyu Musa explained that the intending pilgrims should always verify information and disregard rumors about the commencement of the process.
He highlighted some challenges experienced during last year’s exercise, but more steps will be taken to ensure hitch-free upcoming exercise.
He applauded Sokoto state pilgrims for their good conduct during the last Hajj exercise, while assuring of a more successful Hajj in the upcoming year.
Musa also commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for his support of Islamic activities as one of his cardinal nine-point smart agenda, particularly Hajj activities.
“Last year, the Governor gifted 1,000 Saudi Riyals to each pilgrim from the state, demonstrating his commitment to their welfare,” he said.
The Chairman further expressed his appreciation to the Saudi government for their support towards ensuring peaceful and hitch-free last year’s Hajj exercise.
