TP Mazembe Clinch Historic CAF Women’s Title
TP Mazembe, the Democratic Republic of Congo’s powerhouse, secured their first-ever CAF Women’s Champions League title with a 1-0 victory over hosts AS FAR in the final held at Stade Ben Ahmed El Abdi in El Jadida, Morocco.
The win marks a significant milestone for Mazembe, who redeemed themselves after a group-stage exit in the 2022 edition.

The decisive moment of the game came in the opening 10 minutes when Marlene Kasaj coolly converted a penalty. Despite relentless efforts from AS FAR to equalize, Mazembe’s disciplined defense held firm, securing a historic clean sheet against the former champions.
In the second half, Mazembe surprised many by continuing to press for a second goal, showcasing their intent to dominate. Although AS FAR found their rhythm later in the game, they were unable to break through Mazembe’s resolute backline.
The victory not only crowns TP Mazembe as Africa’s top women’s club team but also earns them $600,000 in prize money, while runners-up AS FAR settle for $400,000. Mazembe’s triumph signals a new era in African women’s football, as they join the prestigious list of CAF Women’s Champions League winners.
