Anambra State Government Issues Operational License To Popular Ride-hailing Platform 

The popular ride-hailing platform, Bolt, formerly known as Taxify, has officially extended its operations to Anambra State after receiving an operational certificate from the state government.

The certificate was handed over at a ceremony held at the State Secretariat in Awka, with the State Commissioner for Transport, Mrs Patricia Igwebuike, emphasizing the need for Bolt’s services to help address the high cost of transportation and insecurity in the state.

In her statement, Commissioner Igwebuike expressed the government’s excitement about Bolt’s expansion, highlighting the benefits it will bring to residents.

Responding, the Operations Manager of the company, Peace Adegoke assured that the company is known for providing convenient experiences, affordable and safe transportation for her customers through their wide range of vehicles including motorcycles, tricycles and cars.

The Public Policy Specialist for Bolt Nigeria, Ewoma Jerry-Ogeme, affirmed the company’s commitment to providing quality and reliable transportation services to the people of Anambra State.

“Anambra State now becomes the third state in the South East region where Bolt has launched its services, following Enugu and Imo States. The issuance of the operational license signifies a significant step towards improving transportation accessibility and convenience for residents of Anambra State,” Jerry-Ogeme added.

Representatives from various enforcement agencies, including the Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigerian Police Force, Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency, Vehicle Inspection Officers, and the National Union of Road Transport Workers, were also present at the ceremony. They pledged their support to Bolt and urged the company to ensure compliance with road traffic regulations in the state.
