An Igbo Women Foundation Nkata Ndi Inyom Igbo Foundation, (NNIIF) will hold a national conference to address key issues affecting women in Nigeria.
The Founder and President General of the group, Iyom Josephine Anenih, says the conference is to address the urgent need for a conversation to address pressing regional and national issues.
“As the African proverb goes, “no one can clap with one hand”. It is with a view to the complimentary roles of both men and women that the idea of gentlemen and ladies of the press, we welcome you all to this pre-event press briefing”, She said.
She also said that the theme of the conference is, “Driving Transformation through Value Re-orientation, Inclusive Leadership and Sustainability”.
“We believe that the country direly needs a series of conversations for the exchange of ideas, more national bonding and functional productivity dialogue that can aid development. We believe that we as women are imbued with the qualities that can drive development. We have both the drive and instincts to seek and create solutions to problems without recourse to wars and conflicts” ” she added.
According to her, the Conference will be chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Benjamin Kalu and other dignitaries are expected to grace the occasion.
The National Publicity Secretary of NNIIF, Inyom Nnedinso ogaziechi, noted that the annual conference in Abuja would be held on the 3rd of December 2024.
She said that Nkata in Igbo language means conversation and the foundation acknowledges the value of conversation in fostering unity, arbitration, interventions and all forms of interpersonal relationships from family to even global levels of bilateral and multilateral communications.
