The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has uncovered a warehouse allegedly stocked with about 28 Trucks of Federal Government rice palliatives.

The bags of rice were customized bearing President Bola Tinubu’s picture with an inscription of “Ramadan Kareem and not for sale” boldly written.

In a swift operation, the Kano Anti-Graft Commission boss, Barrister Muhyi Magaji led a team of operatives to the site located at Hotoro Ring Road in Kano City, where the bags were already undergoing a re-bagging process.

In an interview, Magaji said one person has been arrested in connection with the crime, pointing out that a large-scale investigation will be launched to arrest anyone involved.

He noted that a sealing machine had been recovered with hundreds of empty bags as many had been re-bagged.

“Some people are taking advantage of government initiatives and re-bagging the rice meant as palliatives. You see the picture of the President, Ramadan Kareem, and not for sale boldly written. This clearly speaks for itself, it’s something that belongs to the government.”

Magaji described such actions as a clear form of corruption that cannot be tolerated.

“Investigation will be conducted thoroughly and with all vigour to uncover those behind it,” Magaji vowed.
