UNN ALUMNI Celebrate 30 Years with Library Donations, others

In a inspiring demonstration of gratitude and commitment to their alma mater, the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in Enugu State, marked their 30th graduation anniversary with significant contributions to the university community.

 

The event featured donations of books to the faculty library, the commissioning of a 20kVA/15kW solar power system, and the awarding of scholarships to promising undergraduates.

 

The ceremony took place at the Faculty of Business Administration hall on the university’s Enugu campus, where the new solar power system was unveiled, promising to illuminate the faculty and enhance the learning environment for students.

 

The alumni, who graduated in 1994, represented various departments within the faculty, including Marketing, Accounting, Management, and Banking and Finance. Their collective efforts have culminated in scholarships worth millions of naira, aimed at supporting selected students in their academic pursuits.

 

“We owe so much to this faculty,” remarked Mr. Ben Ewah, President of the Alumni Association. “This initiative is our way of ensuring that future generations have access to the same opportunities we were fortunate to receive.”

 

The event attracted the presence of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of University of Nigeria Enugu campus, UNEC, Prof. Daniel Nwachukwu, along with university officials and students, all of whom expressed profound gratitude for the alumni’s generous contributions. In his remarks, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor commended the alumni for their dedication to giving back, emphasizing the positive impact their contributions would have on the educational experiences of current students.

 

The ceremony also recognized the achievements of several distinguished alumni for their commendable contributions to both the university and the nation.

 

Chief Ugochukwu Okeke (Enyioha), a prominent member of the group and a Board of Trustee member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), made a notable contribution by donating books to the faculty library. He encouraged fellow graduates to follow suit, stating, “We are proud to be part of this association and urge our fellow alumni to support the university in any way they can.”

 

Other notable contributors at the event included Chief Emeka Mamah, CEO of Ifesinachi Motors, among many others, who contributed to the success of this generous initiative.

 

The event encapsulated the spirit of community and commitment inherent in the alumni network, showcasing their dedication to fostering the next generation of leaders in the field of business.
