Kogi Governor Presents N582bn 2025 Budget To Assembly

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo on Tuesday presented over 582 billion Naira 2025 budget to the State House of Assembly.

Governor Ododo noted that the budget which is tagged budget of ‘Inclusive Development’ was proposed to ensure reforms that will address the weakness in all sectors of the state’s economy.

He noted that his administration had developed a 32 year development plan with the theme “Shared hope and prosperity.”

Governor Ododo said the document was a comprehensive roadmap, designed to transform Kogi State into a thriving, inclusive and sustainable economy.

According to the governor, his administration’s approach will continue to prioritize investments in youth empowerment, education, and infrastructure, following the legacies of his predecessor, Yahaya Bello.

He said his administration would strive hard to complete every single project in each of the 21 Local Government Areas of the State.

The administration aims to ensure transparency and inclusivity in governance and encourages citizens to take ownership of the budget process,” the Governor said.

Earlier, the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Umar Aliyu Yusuf, in his speech, said under the leadership of the governor, the House had continued to fulfil its legislative mandate through meaningful deliberations and the enactment of laws aimed at improving the lives of the people.

He said, “As we proceed with the process of passing the Appropriation Bill, I urge my honourable colleagues to approach this significant task with a sense of duty and purpose.

“We shall work together to ensure that the policies and programmes reflected in this budget contribute meaningfully to the progress and prosperity of our dear State,” the Speaker said.
